Complaint TO CPABC

On January 25 2026, we lodged a formal complaint to the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) alleging that a CPABC publication authored by its President & CEO misrepresents Sustainable Forestry Initiative certification and related forestry practices as evidence of ecological sustainability, contrary to scientific evidence and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting principles. The complaint asks CPABC, with oversight from the Superintendent and the Minister, to review whether this publication breaches CPABC’s statutory duty to protect the public interest, maintain regulatory impartiality, and avoid endorsing misleading industry narratives.
